Addition and Subtraction Lapbooks

With Max and Rissa finishing their first year of school, and it being the summer I thought I would make a couple lapbooks to help them with review during the summer months. Here are the two I made the last two days.

One is for Addition review and the other for Subtraction.
Addition LapbookSubtraction Lapbook
The subtraction book has number family math problems Ex: 1-0=1, and 1-1=0, and the other 1/2 has all the problems totaling the same number Ex: 10-5=5, 9-4=5 and so on.

Hope you enjoy this lapbook. I have plans for many more!

Week 14 Weigh In

Last week the girl that usually brings the scale forgot to bring it so we did not have a weigh in. But last night we did and I was not really wanting to weigh in. We have had so many picnic/Bar B Q's my birthday, anniversary all of which I know I have over eaten just a little ;).

Reluctantly I took my turn on the scale and though I am sad to say I gained a pound. I am thrilled it was just one pound that I gained. This is the first pound I have gained since beginning this weight loss journey so not to bad.

Going to try to get back on track this week! Hope everyone else is doing good!

Week in Review

Monday morning I woke to the sound of work crews that were there to tear down an abandoned house next door to my house. Things were flying so the kids and I got ready and headed out. We walked to get the car and then headed to my sister's for the afternoon.
This is what it looked like several hours later. The men were very kind workers. I appreciate that we didn't hear any music, language or anything. They asked if we would want the bush gone and we said yes. The bush blocked our view down the street, and was always covered in ants. The forman said he would make the area really nice so my kids could play in the lot.
The project is taking them a bit longer than expected due to the fact there aren't many big construction projects so they are having a rough time getting fill dirt. Also they had a water main problem and the hole kept filling up with water. They have fixed that problem now though.

Here is the lot yesterday
My husband had to work Monday evening so the kids and I hung out at my moms and we played this new game she had bought. It is a fun game, but it's hard to use strategy when playing with kids ;) You have different shape pieces and you play them starting at one corner, and you can only play off an angle of your own color. I want to buy this game now :D But I am a game fanatic!
Tuesday afternoon we headed to a nearby park to hang out with some friends. We got caught in the rain, and so the visit was cut a bit short.

Finally a picture without a tongue sticking out ;)
Wednesday we took the day off, and tried to catch up on a bit of housework and laundry. We have been so busy lately it was starting to get piled up.

Thursday we took another day off from running ;) and cleaned up more, and just relaxed. Then in the evening my mom called and said my Dad was playing baseball at a nearby park and it was a double header. We headed to the park, and then when the first game was finished the kids had to use the restroom, but they had closed them early so we went home to take a potty break, well, my middle daughter started crying cause she wanted to stay even though it was starting to get chilly so we grabbed jackets and headed back.

We got to the second game just in time for the thunder and lightning. It started to down pour and they called the game, but it was nice to get out in the fresh air for a minute ;)

We went to a couple stores then headed home to go to bed....we needed it~

Today the kids and I are heading out to just have fun...not sure exactly where we are going yet, but sometime today I need to grocery shop it has been about 2 weeks since I have done any big shopping and we are running out of food ;)

Tomorrow we will head out for visitation, and then it's our anniversary so DH and I will be going out ~Still trying to plan that!

Hope everyone had a great week.

Weekend in Review....With Pictures ;)

We started our "weekend" off with lunch with our friends. We enjoyed all you can eat Pizza and then we headed to the fabric store for a bit. Then we parted ways.

My eldest brother is in town so we then headed to my mom's for a visit. Here are the kids enjoying riding "their" bikes (my parents have many, many bikes for when the grand kids come over for a visit.

Then it was time for a treat to cool off
Here is a picture of my kids with their uncle. We hadn't seen him in over a year so it was nice to see him.The next morning we got up very early and started food preparations for our church's annual 4th of July picnic.

Here are some pictures of our day on July 4thMy husband decided to take my daughter out on a Kayak ride, and they were off.....I was relaxing when a man from my church hollered out to me to bring my camera.
Notice anything different? They left in a yellow one, and now Mackenzie is in a blue one.....What could have happened?!?
Well, my husband was racing a man from our church in their Kayak's when my husband went to look to see where the other man was he went down, and into the water went both him and poor Mackenzie. My husband said she started to panic, but he grabbed her up! So thankful for life jackets. The other man from church circled back around and picked up Mackenzie, and then towed my DH back to shore (hehe....YAY for pictures ;) )
Just glad he didn't have our camera! Wet wallet, and ruined cell phone, but that is better than losing any of it. So thankful they were both OK

The kids love to see the horse that the mounted police ride around on.We have a man in our church that is a jokster to put it lightly ;) Well, the kids caught a fish so he ran over with a hamburger bun and had Mackenzie put the fish in there and she walked around telling everyone she had a fish sandwich (lol). It was still alive and moving
After a long day of fun we waited for the sun to go down. While waiting I snapped a few pictures. When it got dark the fireworks started! They were really good this year. There was sort of a mini finale in the middle of the show. Very neat.HeartDouble HeartSaturday we got up and did some finishing touches on Madi's fair projects. This was our first year and we really didn't know what to expect. Madison entered two categories. She did holiday centerpiece and then painting.

She placed in both categories. For her painting there was SOOOO many up against her, but she placed 6th, and for her centerpiece she placed 4th! We are so proud of her. Next year we will know more what to expect and she wants to enter more categories.

The judges ask questions about your project and what you learned from it etc. Madi was very nervous.
Posing with her prize (Sort of ;) )
Up close of her Centerpiece.
Her Painting

After the judging we headed to our friends for a bit, and then off to my parents for a BarBQ. We hung out there for a bit, and then came home.

Tomorrow we have church and then yet another BarBQ at my MIL's house, and then back to church. I don't think I can keep up with all this running around. We are absolutely taking next week easy. We do have to go back to the fairgrounds to get madi's projects, but that won't be till later in the week.

Hope you all had a great week.
